The Roleplay
And the bit we already typed.

Shin rolled his head as he tried to ease the tension in his neck before he sighed deeply, dropping his two rather large bags on he ground.
"Well, that bed doesn't seem all that bad," he muttered silently to himself as he looked around. These dorms were pretty fancy, even if the school building itself seemed a bit old fashioned.
Shin suppressed a shiver as he rubbed his arms in an attempt to warm them. Walking over to a window he looked outside, observing the perfectly white landscape that was the school's terrain. Small tufts of white continued to fall from the sky at the moment, covering the ground and everything else it fell on in a new, fresh layer of coldness.
Shin ran his right hand through his blond hair before allowing his thumb to trace the outline of the tiny scar on his forehead. Sighing quietly, he covered it with some strands of hair before looking around again.
There are supposed to be other students here, right? Shin thought to himself as he looked around.
"If I'm not mistaken, the boys and girls are strictly separated, but there should be some other people in these dorms right now..."
After contemplating what to do next a little while longer, he eventually picked up one of his bags, pulled out a fluffy brown sweater and put it on quickly. Even if the dorms were warmed, and several firesides were placed, the temperature was still a bit to low for his liking. He really did prefer warmer places.
"But still, it's better than staying home with him, right?" He quietly asked himself.
He stood still for a few more minutes, thinking deeply before nodding.
"Alright, let's see how the other people are like. They better not be snobbish," he silently said before smirking slightly.
Opening the door, he finally left the room, looking around to see if other people were there.

With a sigh Mamoru entered her bedroom. All the commotion in the girls' dorms had tired her a bit, so she decided to pull back to what seemed to be the only place where she could find rest. She walked up to her bed and let herself fall on it. With a little stretching and another sigh of relieve, she finally found rest.
She just lay there for a few minutes, watching the pure flakes of white gently drift their way to the earth on the other side of the window, while playfully moving around the cross shaped pendant in her hand. The cross had never really meant anything to her as a symbol, but letting the jewel dance in her hands has always provided inner peace and rest when required.

When she finally felt recharged enough to continue daily activities she sat up, and fetched some notes in her own handwriting, and a rather fat book which read "Seisho", or "Holy Bible", on the cover. She flipped the book open in the sixth chapter of Matthew, where she left the bookmark ribbon, and continued her notes for the assignment they got for Biblical Studies.
She let out a sigh of slight annoyance. At first she thought the assignment might get to be interesting, but it turned out rather boring instead. She picked up her fountain pen, and wrote down another reference followed by the phrase "no man can serve two masters". She wrote it down in a well looking and consistent handwriting, for which she had to thank the calligraphy classes she had been taking.
She really wanted to do something besides this boring assignment, but she would have to do it sooner or later anyways. She continued her work, fingering her cross with her left hand and making notes with her right.

She let out a deep sigh as she entered the small room, dropping her bags absentmindedly on one of the two beds; unpacking them could be done later. Kanon looked around the room; it was still the same as last year, and the year before that. It was a room initially made for two students for some weird reason, but she never had to share it. There was another girl living in the unit though, she should be in second year now. The girl from the last room graduated last year, so probably someone new would be placed there now.

“And it’s still too quiet around here.” She muttered before singing parts of her favorite song. Coming from a home with laptops and music, Kanon still had a hard time ajusting to the tranquil atmosphere here. As a first year student she had whined months about not having her precious laptop and in her second year she managed to sneak in a cellphone. Unfortunately they found out halfway through the year and she almost got expelled.
A grin appeared on her face as she thought about the past years on this school. She had driven a couple of teachers into madness with her habit of speaking her mind. It had made her famous among the students, but it had also gotten her into detention a lot. Nevertheless, it was very well worth it each and every time. In her opinion, the rules of this school existed to be broken. They were outdated, strict, and useless. Okay, some rules weren’t completely useless, even though often the punishment was way too high for normal standards. On the other hand, this wasn’t a normal school either.

Kanon decided that she had stayed long enough in her room and made her way to the door, taking a quick glance at her reflection when she passed the mirror. It still looked kinda miserable, although the accident was already one week ago. I guess falling down those stairs wasn’t such a good idea. Kanon thought as she eyed the bandages, bruises and her broken wrist. Of course, it wasn’t her fault, but she still felt kinda stupid about it. Her parents were concerned about her going to school like this (and to be honest, she wouldn’t mind staying home for another couple of weeks at all), but the staff had convinced them that the medical care in their infirmary was as good as a hospital’s, so their precious daughter could start the new year along with the rest of the students. Letting out another sigh, the door closed behind Kanon as she walked down the hallway.

It was early in the morning when Yuuki arrived at the station. She sighed as she got off the train and took a look around. It was completely deserted. The snow had stopped falling as she started walking for the bus stop, which, as she was told, would take her to the school grounds. This was Yuuki's first year at Daiseigaku and she didn't really know what to expect at all. She had heard the most horrible stories about it, but could that all be true, or just someone's sense of humor? 'It couldn't be that bad', she thought to herself. She found the bus stop and took a look at the schedule. As her eyes scanned the thing her face went blank. “What?!”, she exclaimed. “You can't be serious!” The bus had just left 5 minutes before her arrival, and the next would be in 3 hours time.

'It can't be that far..', she thought as she started walking again, dragging the two heavy suitcases, luckily on wheels, along behind her. She had gotten on the train really early this morning, being dropped off at the station by her nanny. She hated the word so badly, but that was what Tania was. Her parents were nearly never home and always very busy. They had said goodbye to her over the phone the other day, but that was it. Her parents had said this school would be a good change for her, but she knew they just wanted her out of the way. “Parents..”, she sighed.

The road was steep and ragged, which didn't make it any easier for Yuuki to find her way to the school. Her mind was wandering as her hands numbed by the cold. 'I'm so glad I did put on this warm coat..' The landscape was so beautiful, all covered in a cloak of white. She had been walking for at least an hour now and it had started snowing again. In the distance she could make out a figure walking towards her.

From his place at the window sill, Kuranosuke had a full view on the courtyard of the academy. Little dots of white filled the sky, blending together the surroundings into a light shade of gray. There was quite a commotion on ground level, as the new students for this year started arriving. He sighed, it was all too familiar. This would be his third time witnessing the event, and he wasn't looking forward to it. It was obvious the ceremony would be boring, but somehow the hazzle of all the first years pouring in, really annoyed him the most. He would probably get two new roommates to, as the dorms were divided in units. Every unit contained three bedrooms, a kitchen, bathroom and a large living room. The two other rooms in his unit had been occupied by two of his sempai which had graduated the previous year. The school head had placed him with two youths that could be called real model students, hoping they would have some good influence on him. However, the effect was minimal, as the two sempai practically ignored the obstinate underclassmen after he had made clear he had no intention of taking them as his example. Oh well, he couldn't complain. They had mostly left him alone, which was exactly the way he wanted it.

The situation would change though. A frown appeared on his forehead as he slowly turned away from the window and dropped his feet on the ground. He was REALLY not looking forward to meeting his new neighbors. Especially not when they were enthusiastic nerds, especially selected to be nuisances to him, and hinder his carefree lifestyle in any way possible. He decided to just avoid meeting them for now, and headed for the bedroom door.

Upon entering the living room he noticed the fact that the door on the right of his room stood open. Great, one was here already. He hadn't noticed at all. Kuranosuke didn't even consider greeting the new guy, but silently took his jacket and sneaked through the door leading to the hallway. Why was he so used to this? A sarcastic smile forming on his face, he pushed up his glasses and took off towards the entrance of the building. 'I'll just get some fresh air.'

Once outside, he was immediately surrounded by cold air that send shivers down his spine. It was probably one of the only things he liked about being here: the never ending winter. Enjoying the beautiful excess of white around him, the snow cracked under his feet as he quickly walked passed all the unknown faces. One kouhai bumped into him, clumsily trying to carry a huge suitcase. Upon meeting an icy glance of the dark haired upperclassmen, he stumbled upon his feet and fell in the snow.

"I.. I'm so sorry!"

Kuranosuke raised an eyebrow. "Why so scared, it's not like I'll eat you alive for being too stupid to look in front you while you walk."

The ironic remark exactly portrayed the way he was feeling. Leaving the poor confused boy on the ground, he turned around.

Satte to, now where to go... The forest didn't really lure, especially not in this weather, so he decided to walk down the road to the village a little, thinking it would probably be the most quiet place at the moment. Jeez, really every inch of the campus ground was crowded at the moment. Annoying bugs. But then, the encounter with the clumsy boy had somewhat lightened his spirit, as he had been able to vent some of his irritation.

As could be suspected from the location of the academy, the view from the narrow road was enticing. Due to the snow, you couldn't see very far, but even so, the hills and valleys covered dressed in a silky withe on both sides, showed a rough beauty which could only be found in nature.

At moments like these, Kuranosuke didn't mind being put here by his parents. Good thing his dad didn't know how much he liked the snow covered mountains, he thought as his lips formed a mischievous grin. Knowing the old geezer, he was sure that would be reason enough to find him an even shittier place to live. Not that it would be easy... frowning again, he put his hands in his pockets in order to warm them a little. This school had been hell until now and he still had one more year to go. Not welcoming that thought, he slowed his pace as his eyes could make out someone else walking a little ahead of him. It appeared to be a girl with... two enormous suitcases. What the hell? Was she crazy!? The road from the village to school campus was more than 7 miles. Really, the stupidity of some people. Oh well, it was nothing of his concern, he thought has he turned around. Time to go back.

Story so far//Roleplay Empty Re: Story so far//Roleplay

Shin walked through the schoolbuilding, a casual and slow set pace. His hands, clenched, were stuffed in his pockets and his shoulders were slightly pulled towards his neck in an attempt to warm himself. His footsteps echoed through the large halls but the sound was drowned under the loud noises of the new students. He sighed quietly as he watched several younger people walk past him hastily with distressed expressions on their pale faces.

Heh, apparently I'm not the only one who thinks it's cold, he thought to himself.

He continued his stroll for a little while longer but quickly turned around as he suddenly saw a stern, bald man appearing in front of him with a deadpan expression, the small eyes seemingly piercing right through him. Feeling intimidated, Shin immediately turned around to face away from the man, who was probably one of the monks that ran the school.

Damn, those guys are creepy. How can I learn something from them when I can't even look them in the eye?

Shin took a deep breath as he continued his stroll and it eventually took him to the main entrance of the school. He looked up at the cieling and his eyes widened as he saw the huge arches and beautiful paintings that decored the stones and bricks. He stood there for a few minutes, just staring. But eventually his neck began to protest against the tortureous strain it was put under and he was forced to look down again.

Once again rolling his head on his neck, he really did that often, he looked at the large entrance in front of him and decided to approach it. But through the many pulling and tugging by the masses of bodies that sped past him he could already feel the biting cold from outside. And since he found himself without a proper jacket, he decided to turn around yet again. For a while he settled on following some of the freshman, but to his amusement he found that they were simply walking in circles through the large main hall. So instead he took one of the magnificent stairwells that led him to the boys' dorms again.

He walked towards his own room and raised a single eyebrow as he saw someone had been in his room while he was gone. His own belongings were still in the same place, but it felt different from when he left. The room looked more occupied. In fact, some stuff was dumped in the room, leading him to believe he must have a roommate.
Hmmm, that'll be interesting...
With a curious smirk on his face, he tends to smirk when he's interested or amused, he walked towards a very small kitchen where he made some instant-hot-chocolate for himself. Surely, the cheap stuff wasn't great, but before he could buy the necessary ingredients, this would have to do.

So Shin happily snuggled in his large, brown sweater as he carefully took the damping cup of hot chocolate and seated himself on his bed. And with a satisfied shimmer in his eyes, he sipped from the steaming liquid as he thought about how the people here must be.
This'll really be interesting...

'I can't see a thing through all this snow', Yuuki thought. She sped up her pace, hoping to be able to ask the person walking towards her if she was nearly there or not. Or maybe she wasn't even walking in the right direction. “I'll die before even getting to the school”, she muttered, complaining to herself.

The person walking towards her started coming into view and turned out to be a quite a handsome boy, with glasses. She thought he was quite cute, although he looked awfully grumpy. He reminded her of someone, though she couldn't remember who.

As soon as he noticed her his expression changed to something she couldn't read. He turned around and started walking back to where he came from. “Ano!”, Yuuki called out after him. “Could you maybe help me?” She tried catching up with him. “I'm a bit lost”. The snow was slippery and she had trouble maintaining balance. 'Don't fall, don't fall, don't embarrass yourself!', she thought as she fell over, face forward, in the ice old snow.

Mamoru came back from the bathroom. It was a good distraction from her work. She sat back down on her bed and scanned the texts for the part where she left off. She started fingering her pendant again as she read the verses and made notes.

It was actually quite strange making vacation homework on the first day of school. The other students in her class had probably finished it by long. But, quite contrary to what the teachers believed, Mamoru had a short attention span and usually postponed her homework until the very last moment. However, being brought up the way she was, she always finished her homework, even if it meant staying up all night to get it done. In fact, if it where not for her upbringing, she wondered if she would make even half of the homework they got.

She wrote down her last notes:
wise man -> rock
foolish man -> sand
It was enough to tell her what it meant. She let out a deep sigh. All what was left now was write a short paper about the notes she had been taking, but she did not feel she had the concentration to get that done.
Mamoru put away her homework, let herself fall on her bed, and hugged her pillow. School's pillows where big, fluffy and very comfortable. She could clearly tell the difference in quality of her pillow at school and her pillow at home. Just like her bed, actually. Though being home and away from school for a while was a nice experience, she had really missed her bed at school.
She stared out of the window again, watching the flakes of snow gently floating their way down.

After a while, Mamoru started to get bored a little again, and decided for a walk. She grabbed her coat, which she had hung over the chair in her room, and left her dorm unit. On her way out she heard girls giggling in some rooms, probably talking about their vacations and the new load of cute little freshmen, like they did every year. She even got the impression there was a pillow fight going on in one of the dorms, and she let an annoyed sigh. She thought pillow fights where plain annoying. On top of that, if one of the more strict nuns would find out, you could get in great trouble for causing disorder in the dorms.
Reaching the ground floor, Mamoru found most of it was packed with more noisy girls who had just arrived at school. She forced her way through, politely asking various people for excuses doing so. When she finally came outside, she felt a deep freezing chill down her spine and dashed into her coat. Then, after forcing her way through the boys waving their their friends and sisters goodbye, she could finally look around. Everything was in a coat of white, and the frosted pine trees here and there made the scene complete. It was a quite nice scenery. One she had missed.

She put her hands in her pockets and walked down a familiar path leading into the woods. It was one of the paths she would walk down to find rest on noisy days like these.
She hiked though the forest, past familiar trees and bushes in their familiar coat of white, not having to worry about anything. Well, except being back on time for the opening ceremony.

Kanon enjoyed walking through hallways on the campus. Not just because walking helped her clear her mind, but also because she found it funny to see people’s reactions as she walked by. Letting her left hand slide over the stone walls of the girl dormitories, she continued her way outside, passing a number of second and third years who smiled and waved. Although Kanon didn’t know them by name and had talked to them maybe once or twice, she smiled back and gave the group a small nod, like she always did in these kinds of situations. A passing nun looked at her with a mixture of annoyance, anger, and a little fear. It seemed the air got even colder and a shiver ran through her body.

Being known was one thing, but it seemed to have two sides. In case of the students it was a good kind of famous, most people were nice, although some couldn’t stand her. With the teachers and other staff it was the wrong kind, as she often got evil glares and most of them weren’t very nice either. Not that she was held back by these thoughts, Kanon accepted them and wasn’t even the least kind of bothered by them. Her only goal here was graduating with top marks; a goal in which she was succeeding very well and which was keeping her from being expelled. This way she could leave this wretched place as soon as possible. If it wasn’t her father’s wish, she wouldn’t have stayed here another week. Heck, she would’ve left after the first month in the first year. In one way or another, she envied her cousin, who had been kicked out of this hell in his second year, though with his personality she was surprised they could endure him even that long.

A smile appeared on her face again as she stepped outside. It was still snowing and some second and third years were there, as well as many new students. Sure, the noise was quite bothersome, but somehow this scene always gave off a certain wave of energy; maybe it was the excitement of a new school, new friends and that kind of feelings. And Kanon couldn’t help but feeling a bit of excitement herself too, maybe she, too, was looking forward to her last year. Not necessarily because it was her last, not because she liked this school so much, but more because of how she could drive the teachers and staff crazy.

OOC:
Supensaa:
This is a joint post of Genesis and me. A piece of roleplay we both looked forward to doing.
Yume: It was fun making a post like this. Hope you like it. ^-^

Supensaa
Mamoru heard the snow crisping under her feet as she ventured down familiar paths where apparently, as there where few other footsteps to be seen, no one had walked for a while. She had been walking for a while now.
All the ruckus of girls in the dorms where a bit too much for her and had irritated her. However, after thinking about various things while walking through the beautiful pieces of nature she had missed, she noticed her annoyed temper had almost completely dissolved. She thought she had hiked for long enough and went for the shortest way back.

Yume
Watching the new students was fun, but after a while it became boring. They just kept coming, looking around nervously or chatting loudly with each other, getting lost while searching their dorm…
Kanon sighed deeply as irritation slowly took place among her current emotions. Not being able to endure the torturing sounds any longer she made her way back into the girl’s dormitories. She still had to unpack her things anyway.
While walking through the long hallways and up the stairs, the blond tried to brush off the snow that had collected on her clothes. Nevertheless, some of it had molten already. “Damn…” She muttered and quickly looked around. None of the nuns where to be seen, luckily.

Supensaa
After a while Mamoru could see the girl dorms in the distance. “Almost there,” she smiled. She felt really refreshed from her walk; she had not felt that peaceful in a long while. The nature around here had a soothing effect on Mamoru. She entered the dorms and greeted some people with a smile, this time while actually meaning it.
“Good day, Inuyama-san. Have you had a nice vacation?”, she asked one of her classmates.
“Hi, Aiheru-san,” the girl replied. “Yes, I’ve had a great vacation! It’s nice to sleep in your own bed for a change, isn’t it?”
“Yes, it is,” Mamoru lied.

Yume
Kanon opened the door to her unit, and it seemed it was still empty. “Hatenaki yume motomeru shirube naki sekai de...” She sang as twirled around the living room and entered her room. Her bags lay on her bed, exactly where she had left them. While removing her clothes from them on by one, she left a new shirt aside to change into after she was done; the one she was currently wearing got too wet because of the snow.
After having placed her clothes in the wardrobe, she decorated the room with her other personal stuff. Kanon brought her own pillow with her, placed a couple of books and notebooks on the desk, along with a picture of her and her cousin, Setsuna.
Being happy with the result, she changed into the new shirt and walked back to the living room where she claimed a large and comfortable chair. She closed her eyes, unpacking had taken quite some energy.

Supensaa
“Well, nice seeing you again, Inuyama-san. I’ll see you in class,” Mamoru said with a smile. She thought the conversation had lasted long enough, and she should go back to her homework again.
“Good bye,” Inuyama replied, and they both went their ways. The girl back to her friends, and Mamoru to the stairs. She went her way to her new dorm unit, shortly greeting some other students and nuns she knew while doing so.
She arrived at her unit, got the key out of her pocket and wanted to unlock the door, when she found that it was unlocked already. Surprised she went inside. On her way to her room Mamoru could see someone was sitting in a chair in the living room. However, the back of the chair was turned to her so she could not see who her new dorm mate would be for the year. Not like she cared. She’d find out sooner or later anyways.
She opened the door to her room and sat down on her bed. There where a chair and desk in her room, but she preferred sitting on her bed. Mamoru took out her notes for the piece she had to write, but looking through them she suddenly really didn’t feel like working on it. She put the notes down on their old spot and stood up. She said to herself it was because it was not polite of her to not greet her new dorm mate, though she knew it was really an excuse to keep her off her homework.
She reentered the living room and walked up to the girl in the chair. When she saw who it was she flinched. It was Kurosawa Kanon. Kurosawa was about the most troublesome girl in all of her year. Despite the fact that she almost hated this girl, she forced out a kind smile and said “Hello, Kurosawa-san. It seems we are dorm mates this year. Yoroshiku ne?”

Yume
The snowflakes were still falling from the sky, and Kanon watched them float down past the window with a sleepy, but peaceful expression on her face. The unit was on the 3rd floor and the noise of the other students outside could be barely heard. All was quiet until someone else entered the room.
Closely listening, the blond heard the footsteps going into one of the bedrooms. It wasn’t the second year’s bedroom, so it should be the new girl. “Che, how rude.” Kanon muttered. Anyone who’d enter the room would see her sitting in the chair, but this girl was too lazy to show her face and introduce herself.
Probably, the girl also figured it wasn’t nice not to introduce herself as she returned to the living room and Kanon turned to face her. Twitch. Twitch twitch. Before her stood Eichelberger Mamoru. Besides that her surname is completely unpronounceable, it was also the most holy and saintly acting girl of the whole school. With emphasis on acting. Kanon could see that behind the good behavior and smiles, there was another personality. Just like how she was trying to smile right now. It was something she hated most; people acting like someone they weren’t.
Not even trying to fake a smile, Kanon nodded. She was sure this was the idea of those stupid nuns. Placing some goody-two-shoes in the same unit as the bad behaving girl, in order to have some good influence on her. They did the same with Setsuna. Though there was no way she was going to change because of Mamoru living here. Over her dead body.

Supensaa
She looked at Kurosawa with the same smile, but now Mamoru had to do about twice the effort to keep it up. She just frikkin’ ignored her! She had to admit the girl did nod at her, but it came close enough. Out of her sense of courtesy she still tried continuing the conversation, but she found it impossible to do and made a decent end to it. Mamoru turned around, and the moment she knew for sure Kurosawa couldn’t see her face anymore, her kind smile disappeared, and in a fraction of a second it gave place for the most irritated look Mamoru had made in a long time.
‘The annoying brat!’, Mamoru thought as she entered her room. ‘Just doesn’t know how to behave. It’s a wonder she’s not expelled yet, like her darned cousin was.’
Compared to finding out she had to spend the rest of the year in the same unit as that girl, her unfinished homework didn’t seem as bad anymore. Almost eagerly she started the assignment that just now she would have loathed doing.

Kuranosuke
‘Oh my God, I just don’t believe this.’ As Itou Kuranosuke turned around, his eye just caught the moment that the girl in front of him fell in the snow, face down. Letting out a sigh, he wondered how someone like her made it even this far in life. ‘She wants to die or something? It’s freezing ten degrees Celsius out here and school’s still miles away.’ He really had no choice but to help her right now, or she would seriously get sick.

The sight was quite pathetic actually, as one suitcase had released part of its content. The result was a girl with her face buried in a thick layer of snow, decorated by her personal belongings which were randomly sticking out the white mess around her. Normally he would have grinned in such a situation, but this time it was a serious intrusion in his plans, as he had wanted to stay away from the school grounds for some more time in order to avoid the ruckus.

“What are you relaxing for, just get up already. Jeez, the snow is melting, you will be drenched within minutes.”

With an annoyed frown he started stuffing all the items back in the suitcase. ‘Why did she bring so much shit anyways? Damn girls’. After he took hold of the other loaded one, he started heading back in the direction of the Academy without another look at its owner. Having walked a few steps, he paused, took off his jacket and flung it in the direction of the girl.

“Here, you better put that on if you don’t want to be in the infirmary the next couple of days. Now let’s get going.”

For some reason, Kanon wanted to do something what would annoy that Mamoru like hell. Sitting in her chair, again staring at the dots of white floating down, a good idea came to mind. It might not irritate her that much, but we'll see. She thought as she walked into her room.
Still on her bed was a black case, Kanon opened it carefully and gently picked up the violin that was inside. The girl smiled softly, taking a moment to appreciate the instrument. She had forgotten about her violin in the silence that was so common here and the habit of turning on her laptop for music. It had been a while since she played the violin, especially within school grounds. With a broken wrist holding the bow wasn't easy, but it worked alright.

Back into the living room, Kanon started playing a classical piece she was familiar with. Being able to play an instrument or two wasn't uncommon in rich families, and Kanon too had started with lessons when she was still young. She had the right technique, but wasn't particularly good at the violin; her playing was all over the place. On the other side, Kanon was able to convey the image of the music very well.
Kanon closed her eyes as she let her mind drift away with the music, her hands making the right movements on their own, thanks to the many times she played this piece. A violin sonata from Beethoven called "Spring", with someone to accompany it would have been even better, but it was good like this too, although the image of 'spring' didn't fit this place at all.

Was Mamoru annoyed already? Kanon hoped so, though the possibility that she wasn't was likely too. This is kinda childish, but it's not as if I'm playing only to cause her trouble.
